It is a piece of garbage. Had it exactly 1 yr and 7 months and it one day decided not to power on. only 1 yr warranty and Best Buy doesn’t care. had to pay $70 for them to tell me it was dead. never buy a gateway.
Windows Vista is the problem, once i upgraded to 7 it ran just fine.
I’ve had this laptop for 1 yr already…When I first got it out of the box it sucked cuz it froze so many times. Comes with Windows Vista but you can upgrade to Windows 7. It’s slow at first but when you clear the unnecessary programs and defrag the system it runs smooth and quicker. The downfall is the battery power because it last a maximum of 1.5 hrs.

Is the left side of the laptop (on the side with the start button and the esc button) have a loose connection between the screen and the keyboard? because mine seems to be loose, can it move up and down? or is it broken?
Also something he forgot to mention. I have a newer version of this old model (if that makes sense), and it has “Dolby Sound Room” audio, which is kind of like their Home Theater or the Surround you’d find on certain laptops.
@wwwgeekdotcom Not really? Lol, the answer is, “not at all.” If you have ATI Radeon graphics you want at least a 5570 or something in that range for those types of games. I don’t even know if that’s good enough, because I’m not a PC gamer except for The Sims 2 and Age of Empires 3… which this laptop plays beautifully.
I just bought one of these online for $399.97 with all he described in the video to replace my crappy Toshiba L455D-S5976; except it came with Windows 7 instead of Vista.

It has no problems, (examples, Mabinogi, Combat Arms, Upshift Strikeracers, C9, Vindictus) the only thing i reccomend for this laptop is to get a higher or better graphics card to support new games with source engines that are now implemented and 3D/realistic content. a new ATI radeon HD 4000+ series or a recent Nvidia Geforce graphic driver may help you out if your keen on gaming with this laptop. Running on a Windows 7 Ultimate OS

The version of the Gateway NV series is the same, the only thing is that it doesn’t come with a number pad on the right and has basic intel graphics (no ATII or nvidia geforce). I run games on it on the rugular and it is pretty fast. The new vindictus by nexon games is able to be run on high detail stats for everything but it chokes everynow and then ( due to it being player to player hoost atm) Either than that i have been able to multi taks atleast 4 mmorpgs with medium/high graphics
what bothers me are the chargers i went through 3 or 4 in 1 year, and they are like 80 bucks each :/
@WizCrazyz i run this laptop and it rocks i have a viao that was 2x the price and the gateway games alot better
I game with this laptop runs great for the price you show me another laptop that gives you as much as this one for the price
